RULES, REGULATIONS & INFORMATION

The Crème de la King singing competition will consist of one (1) Qualifying
Round at participating venues throughout Southern California. Check individual
participating venues for specific days and times. In order to be eligible for that
day’s competition you must me signed up by the end of the sign up period for
that round. The order of performance for all rounds will be decided by random
drawing.

There will be a select panel of judges at each venue and at the finals at KaraokeFest. Two (2) contestants will be selected from each qualifying round to compete in the Finals at KaraokeFest. At the Orange County Marketplace (the final qualifying venue) four (4) contestants will be selected to compete in the Finals at KaraokeFest.

There will be a nominal entry fee of $5.00 for each attempt to qualify.

You may pre-register to compete at the Orange County Marketplace by contacting D&D Productions at (714) 441-1826. If you qualify at a venue previous to the Orange County Marketplace you will not be able to compete there but will be given the opportunity to perform after the competition has ended (the preregistration entry fee will not be refunded).

The contest is open to everyone but age restrictions may vary by venue.

You may compete as many times as you wish but once you have qualified you
may not compete again until the Finals. Anyone attempting to do so will be disqualified.

Any contestant who has taken first place for two consecutive years will not be
eligible to compete again for a period of one year.

Each contestant will sing one (1) song. Duets may not compete. You may not
change your song after the sign-ups are closed.

If the individual venue permits, you may bring your own CDGs or CDs; no other
formats are acceptable.

You must be present until the end of the competition to be eligible for selection. If you leave before the competition has ended, you will be disqualified for that round, however, you may still compete at a future round.

Proper behavior is expected at all times from the contestants and the people accompanying them. Improper behavior will result in disqualification. Improper behavior includes intoxication poor sportsmanship, bad manners, lack of decorum, etc. Disqualification decisions will be made by Karaoke Scene staff and are final.
