The Crème de la Crème Singing Competition will consist of five (5) Qualifying Rounds and one (1) Semi-Final Round at participating venues throughout Southern California. Check individual
participating venues for specific days and times. In order to be eligible for that night’s competition you must me signed up by the end of the sign up period for that round. The order of performancefor all rounds will be decided by random drawing.

Six (6) contestants (or more if there are ties) will be chosen from each qualifying round to compete in the Semi-Finals for that venue. At the Club Finals one (1) male and one (1) female will be selected to compete in the Finals at KaraokeFest.

There will be a nominal entry fee of $5.00 for each attempt to qualify. There will be a two (2) drink minimum for all contest participants.

You must be at least 18 years of age to compete in this event. At some venues all customers must be at least 21 years of age to enter the establishment by law. If you are under 21 but over 18 years of age, you must qualify at a venue that allows minors.

You may compete as many times as you wish but once you have qualified at a particular venue you may not compete at that venue again until the Club Finals. You may qualify at more than one (1) venue (or all of the participating venues) if you wish. You may compete in each venue’s Club Finals until you are selected as a finalist. Once you are selected as a finalist at any venue, you may not compete again until the Finals. Anyone attempting to do so will be disqualified.

Any contestant who has taken first place for two consecutive years will not be eligible to compete again for a period of one year.

Each contestant will sing one (1) song. Duets may not compete. You may not change your song after the sign-ups are closed.

You may bring your own CDGs or CDs; no other formats are acceptable.

No KJ hosting this event may compete at any venue. Other KJs not hosting this event, but who may be employed at a participating venue, may not compete at that venue but may compete at other venues.

At the Qualifying Rounds, voting will be done by the contestants themselves. Personalized ballots will be distributed to each contestant. Each contestant will vote for a pre-determined number of singers whom they feel were the best in any order. You may not vote for yourself and you must compete the entire ballot. If your ballot is filled out improperly, your ballot will not be counted and you will be disqualified for that round. You must be present for the voting and the results of the voting to be eligible for selection. If you leave before the voting and the results of the voting are announced, you will be disqualified for that round, however, you may still compete at a future round.

At the Club Finals and Finals, the contestants must list their voting choices in order of preference. You may ask a Karaoke Scene representative for details.

Proper behavior is expected at all times. Improper behavior will result in disqualification. Improper behavior includes intoxication, poor sportsmanship, bad manners, lack of decorum, etc. Disqualification decisions will be made by Karaoke Scene staff and are final.
